I believe the reason my daughter did not get much push-back from her teachers this year is that she and I
let her teachers know, starting in September, that she planned to opt
out this year.
The teachers were extremely helpful in figuring out which tests were of
no value.
Ultimately our rule was if the test results were not reported
to the teacher promptly and were not used to determine my daughter's report
card grade, then she chose to opt out.
Asking the teachers to be part
of the process allowed them to express their support for opting out.
